Rajasthan: Nature in the Golden Triangle
We take you through the Golden Triangle- but with a twist. This 10-day journey takes you into the natural spaces of India between its grand monuments to a journey like no other.
This 10-day journey takes you through the various layers that is India. The first is, of course, the cultural. The journey ticks off the major points of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur with visits to the Taj Mahal and winding through old markets and grand monuments. The next, is the adventurous. As you travel through this region, you would discover the city as it wakes up. It is a hidden side of Delhi that few tourists see. The last, is the natural – whether they be naturally created or man-made. This includes the Ranthambore National Park and various conservation centres.
Your journey begins in Delhi. You would be taken through the old markets of Delhi, the Friday mosque, the Qutub Minar, and Humayun’s Tomb – a precursor to the Taj Mahal. You would also hike through the forests of Delhi and learn about indigenous trees of the city including how they shaped Delhi’s history.
An expert chauffeur would then take you to Jaipur – the pink city. Many have thought highly of Jaipur’s Amber Fort and pink city. To explore the city in all its glory is special. Early in the morning, you would cycle through the pink city to see newspapers being sorted and delivered, breakfast being started on, milk being delivered and a lot more.
The journey then takes you to Ranthambore National Park. Once the hunting grounds of the kings of Rajasthan, the National Park is now a sanctuary for tigers and is a great place to sight some of these majestic cats. Along with this, the park is a great combination of rock outcrops and shrub forests.
Your trip would then progress to Bharatpur – a wetland known around India and the world for the endemic and migratory birds that arrive there. An early morning spent searching for cranes and bar-headed geese is quite rewarding.
The road winds from Bharatpur to the Chambal Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh. The only home of Indian Skimmers and a haven for Snout-nosed crocodiles, marsh crocodiles, and river dolphins, the Sanctuary follows one of the cleanest rivers in India.
Your chauffeur would then take you to Agra. In Agra, you would visit the Taj Mahal early in the morning. The monument takes on a special hue at that time and to see the monument in all its glory without much crowd, is something special.
From Agra, you would return to Delhi. Enroute, you would visit an Elephant Rescue Centre. Domesticated and circus elephants, that have been previously mistreated by their owners have been rescued and brought here where they are free to be themselves. The Centre takes care of their well-being and has strict rules regarding their management.
