Uttarakhand: Following in Curzon’s Footsteps
The British were great adventurers. The quest of the great game and the general adventure spirit led to a number of routes being discovered. This is one of the epitomes of that discovery.

The Kuari Pass Trail follows the Western rim of the Nanda Devi Biosphere – UNESCO prescribed World Heritage Site. Very little is known about the fabled creatures living in the Nanda Devi Biosphere as few are still allowed in. This trail was discovered for Lord Curzon in 1905 and it is said that the path was widened so that he could walk on it. 30 years later, it was re-discovered by Eric Shipton and Bill Tillman.
